Permabore Boron is a water-soluble wood preservative containing borax and boric acid. It can be applied by pressure impregnation or by dipping.
Borax, also known as sodium tetraborate decahydrate, has been widely used for its fungicidal properties.
Permabore Boron is non-toxic to humans and protects wood against many fungal species.
Permabore Boron is applied to timber which will have a variety of uses where there is little exposure to the environment. It is important to use timber treated with Permabore Boron in the correct application. This should ideally be under a roof, for wood in hazard classes H1 to H2, and H3 when this preservative is used in conjunction with WaterGuard sealant. All types of timber can be treated with Permabore Boron.Treatment occurs through vacuum-pressure impregnation at a timber treatment plant or by dip treatment. This takes advantage of one of the benefits of this chemical, diffusion, which occurs because the Permabore Boron molecule migrates towards moisture.
